Cannot derive mac address from virtualized port

When I try to associate Service Profile, it says

Will cause a Configuration Failure of

Service Profile VM-CH (org-root/ls-VM-CH) [Server: sys/chassis-1/blade-1]

Failure Reason: cannot derive mac address from virtualized port

cannot derive wwpn from virtualized port

What does it mean and what should I do?

Just edit the NIC settings, and select a MAC pool for the MAC address.

This issue is because you have selected "Derived" for the MAC address for the NIC. The adapter you have is a virtualized adapter and doesn't have MAC burned in. So you have to select a MAC address pool from where the vNIC can derive the MAC addresses.
