What is the least disruptive process of changing the DNS domain of the UCS fabric interconnect management interfaces in a prod environment? Can this be done of the fly? Is it as simple as changing the domain name is the UCS Mgr GUI? Will the fabric interconnects reboot?

Hello
Changing domain name does not require reboot of FI or restart of services.
You need to re-generate the http certs of FI after changing the domain name.
Thanks

Hi Chris
Slightly different but it'll hopefully help you: I changed the management IP addresses, leaving the DNS domain name identical, the other day, on one of my UCS domains. There was no outage - the FIs didn't reboot but I did get kicked out of UCSM and had to log in again of course.
I had to resort to using the console port to do the work as my network admin had already change the management port config.
Cheers
Richard

Thanks Richard & Padma. I was able to change the domain name from the UCSM and then regenerated the certs from the cmd line. No reboots necessary. Thanks for your help!
