i have a Cisco UCS C210 Server in the lab. I had to power cycle the server for some reason. After power cycling, the CIMC ping works for some time (for about 10 seconds) and after that it becomes unreachable.
I tried hooking up the VGA terminal to the back panel. I was able to see the CIMC IP address and such set correctly. Then i exit the CIMC settings page and let it boot up..At that point it loses IP connectivity.
Any hints on what could be going wrong here ?

Is the CIMC in the same IP subnet ? is there a router in the path ? fw ?
Was it ever working or not ?
Check arp cache, mac address on the switches

thanks Walter for the response. This UCS had been working for the past one year.
There is a switch in the path (that connects to the engineering lab network).
I don't have access permissions to the switch to check that out.

If this has been working before, and you didn't make any changes ...could it be duplicated IP address ? Turn off the server, and ping the CIMC IP address.

Hi walter,
Thanks for your time. Our lab admin was able to resolve the IP address issue. Not sure what the problem was though. It seems to work now.
