I just upgraded the firmware on a couple hundred servers and noticed that the fan policy went from Balanced to Low.
This is bad in one of our facilities and the internal SSDs were starting to throw temperature alerts.
What's worse though, is there doesn't seem to be any way to adjust the fan policy via the XML API.
If anyone has an idea on that I'd be happy to hear it.
Thanks,
Brian

Are these standalone Rack servers, UCSM integrated, UCS Central UCSM integrated, etc.
Thanks,

They're standalone. There are local scripts that manage the config for everything.
Thanks,

<configConfMo inHierarchical="false" dn="sys/rack-unit-1/board/fan-policy"><inConfig><fanPolicy configuredFanPolicy="High Power" dn="sys/rack-unit-1/board/fan-policy"></fanPolicy></inConfig></configConfMo>
You set the configuredFanPlicy based on your requirements: Low Power|Balanced|High Power| Maximum Power
