Hey everyone,
We have a customer who purchased a C220 M5 with a VIC1387 card. These cards have two 40gig ports. Can we use QSFP-4SFP10G-CU3M break out cable to a Nexus 3k that only has 10gig ports?
Thanks.

Sorry. Maybe I should've been a bit more clear concerning this issue.
Equipment:
- C220 M5 with VIC 1387 installed. It has 2x40gig ports
- 2 x Nexus 3524x and 10gig ports
- Breakout cable: QSFP-4SFP10G-CU3M
- Installing ESXi
Current connection:
- C220 M5 has QSFP plugged into Port1 --> breaks out into 4x10gig SFP ports.
- 2x10gig SFP ports is plugged into Switch1
- 2x10gig SFP ports is plugged into Switch2
- Switches have VPC setup between the two ports, etc.
With this setup, we are experiencing intermittent network drops and lost of connection. Should we be plugging all 4 10gig ports into Switch1 instead? What are the correct settings within CIMC to get this setup working?
The article referenced seems to be saying that we can go from the vic1387 to a FI but we are not running an FI or a VM-FEX
Thanks.

Just realize, yes port-0 all 10G links to SW-1 & port-1 all 10G links to SW-2 and bundle them in vpc. Have a look to below link

Hey. Sorry for the lack of response.
So we should still follow the same method for plugging into an FI even though we are not using one?
We will go ahead and try this with the client.
Thanks
