I have the following fault logged:
Chassis 1 has had PSU failures. Please correct the problem by checking input power or replace the PSU. The error is there since almost 4 years. What should I do?

Open an ssh session to UCSM and run the following commands:
*connect iom # << # is the chassis affected
*show platform software cmc power red
Paste the output when you have a chance.

PSU 4 is not available for the system but the power requirements is just 970W (Total power usage) while th epower available is 7500W (Total power available).
Check the PSu to confirm it is present, reseat the power cable and the power supply if necessary. If the issue is still present, take a PSU a swap it with this one to see if the PSU is the problem.
If this helps, please rate it.

There is no PSU4 and it never was. That is the problem.

You did not help at all. The error is still present and there is no explanation about it.

Sir/Madam,
The chassis needs 4 PSUs and you have 3... I hope that clarifies the root of the errors.

I have 2 more chassis with 3 PSUs in each and there is no such an error! It needs 4 PSUs if you configure grid redundancy. None or n+1 redundancy needs 4 PSUs when the chassis is full otherwise not. None of the above gives an explanation for the following fault:
Major F0764 2011-03-19T15:28:03.246 98621 Chassis 1 has had PSU failures. Please correct the problem by checking input power or replace the PSU

Can you take an extra PSU of the other chassis and put it here to complete 4 PSUs in this chassis?
What UCSM version are you running?
