Cisco UCS physical segregation

Hello Community/Experts,

My DC current UCS environment consists of only 1 UCS, have 4 half blade B200 M4 chassis connecting through 2 (6248UP) interconnects to SAN.

We are shifting to another computer room, hence I would like some expert advise on the following:

a. Can I segregate 2 chassis per rack since that one rack clocks up to 10kwh and create heating issues during summers? ( e.g they are currently in single cabinet rack, is it possible to segregate 2 chassis + 1 FI * 2 racks?)

b. Is there any distance/cabling limitation between Fabric interconnects ?

c. Is there any distance /cabling limitation between the chassis?

I am a bit new to UCS , hence all these queries. Appreciate your guidance in advance.

Regards

Greetings.

As long as you are not exceeding various cabling technology's maximums, you should be fine.

I am assuming would be using something like the standard 10Gb SR SFPs fiber?

FCOE does have some limitations for Fex (IOM) connectivity of 300M

As the FI to FI cabling (L1/L2) connections are cat 5/6, those are going to have the typical max 100M limitation
