Configuring Backplane Speed Preference on 6332 FI's

The Chassis/Fex discovery policy now has a backplane speed selection option, 40G or 4x10G.  I assume this coresponds to the breakout port function, but I have not found any good guidance on this as of yet.  What is the function of this selection?  When should it be configured?  Is it the case that if you intend to use the breakout function on the 40G ports, you must set the backplane speed to 4x10G and no longer have 40G connectivity available?

Greetings.

The 4x10G would only apply to the 22xx IOMs connected via breakout port.

The 40G backplane setting is not applicable for 22xx IOMs, but for native QSFP via 2304 IOMs

So would it be an accurate statement that if you set that policy to 4x10g you could no longer use 40g connectivity to 2304 IOM's?  Would it also be accurate to say the 4x10g setting is required for breakout cables to 2204 IOM's?

It's still unclear what this setting actually does. In a FI cluster that has many chassis and has both older 10Gb IOMs and newer 40Gb IOMs, what should this setting be set to? Does this setting ever prevent one of the speeds from being used, or is it a purely optional setting?
