Hi,
While configuring UCS Manager 2.0 to authenticate against an LDAP provider (Active Directory) I´m a bit unclear whether the "Attribute" field is required or not when the LDAP Provider is configured?
According to the Configuration Guide page 137 it is required in the LDAP Provider or in the LDAP general tab:
While in other guides it is left blank and seem to work just fine:

Can someone shed som light on this?

Hi Andreas,
If you are using the member of attribute or AD group based authentication, then there is no need to provide an attribute. If you are not using the group role mapping then you need to specify the AD attribute which would pass the role back to UCSM for the user.
