Fabric Interconnect Communication Issue

We have two FI 6248's clustered. "Show Cluster Extended-State" shows the cluster is running properly. The issue is we cannot apply new firmware to the FI's. "Unable to connect" error message. We noticed that from FI-A we cannot connect to the local-mgmt of FI-B, but from FI-B we can connect to the local-mgmt of FI-A. This is true whether FI-A is primary or subordinate. We are not sure what is causing the firmware upgrade to fail. These systems are not under Smartnet.

Any suggestions? We are considering a factory reset of FI-A.

Are the L1/L2 RJ45 cables good? Could be an issue with those two cables as that is what `show cluster extended-state` and `connect local a|b` would use.

Before doing any type of factory reset I would try a reboot (unplug power / wait 10 seconds / plug power) of FI-A.

Thanks for the response. We have replaced the L1 & L2 cables to no avail. We have restarted both FI's without issue but we have not fully unplugged FI-A. We can give this a try.

When we restarted FI-A (subordinate at the time), we were still unable to access the local mgmt of FI-B from FI-A. We then restarted FI-B (Primary at the time) but that also did not fix the issue. Not matter if FI-A is the primary or subordinate, we are unable to connect to the local mgmt of FI-B from FI-A. We also cannot apply new firmware in either scenario as the process times out attempting to communicate with the opposite FI.
