Hi,
I currently have a Cisco UCS-M6-MLB server in standalone mode. We need to convert it to UCS managed mode without losing any data or downtime.
What would be the best possible approach and the UCS manager version recommended.
Thanks.

In order to have UCSM or IMM based policy applied to the same server, that server will go through multiple reboots first for server discover, and then during service profile application while the MLOM/VIC card recreates similar vnics with hopefully similar/identical MACs ,etc. You will not be doing the conversion without downtime. You will want to set your local storage to 'any config' in order to avoid having local raid volumes reinitialized or changed.
Triggering the UCSM discovery of your rack server, will require you to use the F8 boot time CIMC config utility, and reset to factory defaults. Also make sure any connections other than your Cisco VIC cards are moved so that you have only 10/25Gb connections to each FI. After this the server's discovery should trigger in UCSM.
Building the entire profile (along with matching storage and NICs to present same environment to existing OS) is outside the scope of a post here, but hope this gives you some direction.
