Hi,
I would like to use a iSCSI storage for my ESXI install. I did successful install in the past, where the OS was able to find the storage via iBFT. Now, on my system running the 2.2.8 fw, whatever I try, the iBFT table is empty and the OS is unable to find the iSCSI storage. All iSCSI parameters are okay:
adapter 3/4/1 (mcp):4# iscsi_get_config
vnic iSCSI Configuration:
----------------------------
vnic_id: 8
link_state: Up
Initiator Cfg:
initiator_state: ISCSI_INITIATOR_READY
initiator_error_code: ISCSI_BOOT_NIC_NO_ERROR
vlan: 0
dhcp status: false
IQN: iqn.kntl.linux:kntl.init.vyvoj0
IP Addr: 192.168.40.133
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Target Cfg:
Target Idx: 0
State: ISCSI_TARGET_READY
Prev State: ISCSI_TARGET_DISABLED
Target Error: ISCSI_TARGET_NO_ERROR
IQN: iqn.kntl.linux:kntl.tgt.vyvoj0
IP Addr: 192.168.40.2
Port: 3260
Boot Lun: 0
Ping Stats: Success (9.893ms)
But the iBFT table is empty:
adapter 3/4/1 (mcp):5# iscsi_show_ibft
vnic iSCSI iBFT Details:
----------------------------
adapter 3/4/1 (mcp):6#
What is wrong? I knew it has been working in the past.
Thanks for help.
Willi

What does your current boot order config for this service profile show?
Thanks,
Kirk...

Currently it is the only one boot device defined. I had local CD/DVD as a second option, changed the order, but still no help.
The EFI table is filled, why not the iBFT?

Greetings.
So if you boot this current config, and F6/ load an ESXi installer ISO (say 6.x), the Installer does not see any storage?
Thanks,
Kirk...

Yes, exactly so it is. I wonder, because I know it used to work >1 year ago when I tried the ESXi.
Now, when I boot, no local nor remote storage is found. It is strange.

Might be time to check LUN masking, and possibly create a new LUN to test with that has your blade's IP/IQN allowed.
Thanks,
Kirk...
