Hi,
The SAN that our UCS connects to is being replaced, for the first time since we've had the UCS. I was wondering about the best practice for this. Each SAN has their own 2 MDS switches, which connect to the Fabric Interconnects. There is no shared fabric between the SANs. For the old SAN there are two vSANs (20, 21) that are configured on the uplinks of the FIs. Each blade then has 2 vHBAs, one on each vSAN.
Our current plan is to add 2 new uplinks to the new MDS switches configured with new vSANs (for instance 40, 41). We would then add 2 new vHBAs to each service profile. So during coexistance each blade would have 4 vHBAs (20, 21, 40, 41), to access both systems simultaneously.
Is this the best way to do this?
Thanks

Yes, this is exactly the procedure to do it !
Just be aware, that adding 2 new vhba to your SP requires a reboot and is therefore disruptive !
