Mixed blades in single chassis setup

Hi All,

Are there any recommendations/best practises for/against running a mixture of the various blade models in a chassis. This in the context of using it for a VMware ESXi setup.

Besides the quantity of full/half width combination to fit in a chassis, are there any technical limitations for this?

Hi Kassim,

You can very well run a mix of blades in the same chassis, there are no limitations.

Just make sure you have enough PSUs on the chassis to provide suffecient power to the new blades and links between your IOM and the FI to meet your bandwidth requirmeents (if not done already)

Thanks for the super quick reply.

Our chassis PSU's in all the slots, but will need to look at increasing the bandwidth.
