More Sata ports 3.5” UCS C220 M5L

Hi everyone,
How can I connect more hhds sata in my server c220 M5L I have 4 Sata HDDs but I need more like 12.

Is it possible?

Since your LFF model only has 4 LFF drive slots, you will need to add a controller like UCSC-9400-8E, that has external SAS ports to connect to an external jbod enclosure that can house your additional drives.

I think it works for me but I have another question.

Having 2 controllers, one with 4 HDDs and the other with 8 HDDs, can you make RAID 1 between the 12 HDDs?

Do you have any recommendations for low cost enclosure for 8 HDDs?
