Hello

I have 1 Cisco UCS 5108 Chasis with 4 Cisco UCS B200M4 Blade servers, VIC 1340, adapter firmware version 4.0 (1c) and the UCS Manager firmware version 2.2 (3c)

I have one service profile with 12 VNIC for each blade and I saw the following vmnic information on ESX Hypervisor:

vmnic0          N/A (00:25:b5:10:11:17) Connected (...)

vmnic1          N/A (00:25:b5:10:12:17) Connected (...)

vmnic2          N/A (00:25:b5:10:11:15) Connected

vmnic3          N/A (00:25:b5:10:12:15) Connected

vmnic4          N/A (00:25:b5:10:11:13) Connected

vmnic5          N/A (00:25:b5:10:12:13) Connected

vmnic6          Chasis Slot....(...10:11:12) Connected

vmnic7          Chasis Slot....(...10:12:12) Connected

When i try to assign vmnic0,1,2,3,4 or 5, the ping between ESX host is lose but when i assign vmnic 6 or 7, the ping between ESX host was stablished

which is causing this problem?

Thanks for your help

check your vswitch ! you created the vmnic's but according to the screen shot, only a few are really connected to vswitch. you need to select them all, and it should work.

Walter,

Thanks for your help, I'll try this option, but i don't need all vmnics for each ESX host

I don't create a vswitch yet, but i created a VCENTER  and cluster of B200M4 blades

regards.
