Greetings,

I can't get in to CIMC . So If anything I have to go datacenter and reset CIMC. Does anyone know if there is a tool or something to access CIMC or reset it from OS level?

Thank You

Hello,

Unfortunately, without access to the CIMC GUI or CLI via SSH, there is no way to reset the CIMC. You would need to physically power cycle the server to recover. You may be impacted by this:

We have even previously tried issuing IPMI command from baremetal Linux OSs without success for rebooting the CIMC, although a functional CIMC could be queried.  An example of this is when Esxi health agent lists some properties for the BMC.

This is digressing a little but you can confirm the CIMC ip address from a vcenter Hardware Status view for UCS server (in case you don't know what the IP is, and don't want to power cycle to get to F8 POST setup util:

In some instances (think it is 2.0(10) HUU and higher), you can access the CIMC via the console  serial port, which might give you some options while booted (only works with certain OSs while booted):http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/sw/cli/config/guide/2-0/b_Cisco_UCS_C-Series_CLI_Configuration_Guide_201/b_Cisco_UCS_C-Series_CLI_Configuration_Guide_201_chapter_01.html#id_15139
