U200 with QLogic QLE2462 againt HP MSA2000fc?

Hi.

We are thinking of buying a U200 server and I'm woundering if there are any reasons whe this woulden't work with our HP MSA 2000 FC storage system if we equip our the server with a QLogic QLE2462 FC-HBA?

Hi John,

No there's no problems with that.  The C200 is fully certified with QL HBAs.  The QLE2462 just requires a PCIe x4 slot.  The C200 has a full x16 and low profile x8 so you should be fine.

As far as compatability with the array, as long as the HBA is compabile with the array (MSA2000fc), which I'm positive it is, there shouldn't be any issue.

Just for the record, it works without any problem at all.

QLE2462 is a low profile card, so out-of-the-box it's just possible to mount it in the x8 slot.We also fitted our two new servers with the Intel Gigabit ET Quad Port Server adapter, also a x4 card. And this card is delivered with both a full and low profile bracket.'
