Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the UCS solution and I recently tried to update CIMC and BIOS via the Host Update Utility. There were some version warnings that prevented the upgrade, but I was able to update the NIC firmware.
CIMC is at version 1.0.2 and BIOS is at C200.1.4.1.0.071320110702.
I'm not quite sure how to read the BIOS version though.
When the server is powered up, there 3 long beeps and it hangs at Configuring and testing memory, please wait...
Anyway, I tired the BIOS recovery procedure using jumper J1E5 without success.
Has anyone experienced this?
Thank you in advance.
Calvin.

The host upgrade utility is not supported until release 1.2.
This may have been the cause of some of your upgrade issues.
You are running a BIOS of 1.4 from what I can see. You will have to try to upgrade your CIMC version to release 1.2 and the. Use the HUU to get you to 1.4

I have M2 blades, but I made a mistake when I was adding memory to a blade and had the same issue. I would guess if you haven't changed anything then maybe you just have some bad memory that just got detected. the blue sockets are primary so you could try pulling out all the memory but the first blue slot for each proc. I think that sockets A1 and D1 are the ones you would need to leave memory. But I am no expert. just recently been doing a lot of troubleshooting
If you do have mixed memory, I believe the larger DIMMs need to be in the blue slots.

Anikas,
You're right.
I had opened a case with TAC and the issue was resolved.
The server is now at 1.4(2).
Thanks for your help.
Calvin.

Also I forgot to mention that the beeps are probably just your USB related devices, like a mouse.
