UCS 5108 - Blade Placement

We have currently installed two B200 M2 blades side by side (slot 1 and 2) into each of our 5108 chassis. I have since been told they must be placed into the slots in a particular order to utilise the two Interconnect uplinks currently connected. I can't find anything to that effect in the chassis or UCSM installation guides.

Can anyone confirm what slots two blades should go in please?

Scott,

This is not correct.  You can populate any blade in any slot, but depending how many uplinks you are using between your Chassis and FI, certain blades are will be always pinned to the same uplinks.  There are some considerations with balancing the blade load when less than 4 uplinks are used, but that's it.

See the attached diagram

Robert
