Hi all.
I was wondering if anyone could inform me of how ready the UCS product is for ESXi 5.0 and the new Vsphere 5.0 family of products?
I have recently purchased a pair of 6120XP fabric interconnects and a 5108 blade chassis which we are connecting to a NETAPP FAS3210.
I have got to the point of quoting up the Hypervisor just as VMWare decide to change versions.
Guidance would be appreciated.
Regards,

The next version of UCS software will support vSphere 5. That version should be out soon.

Louis,
Is the 2.0 firmware a requirement for ESXi 5.0, or will it install on 1.4 but without some of the latest UCS/ESX integration features supported?
Thanks,
Pete

So pretty much all the servers are supported with vSphere 5 now. I should have been more specific. If you want to do stateless ESXi you need to wait till 2.0 releases.
You should be able to install vSphere 5 on 1.4 code.
BTW my understanding is that we whatever is on the VMware HCL is correct. So you can always check the HCL.

From what I saw on the VMWare HCL only the b200 m2 and b440's are compatible.
I asked our Cisco sales engineer about that the other day and I believe the other blades should be on the VMware HCL soon.
