UCS C220 CIMC DHCP Reservation

Ok here is my scenario, I have 32 C220 servers in a rack (Nodes 1 - 32). The servers showed up by default with the CIMC in dedicated mode so I figured the fastest way I could get an IP address to a server CIMC and know which IP went to which physical server would be to attach all CIMC interfaces to a switch, pull the MAC addresses, and run a quick PowerShell script to import reservations into a Windows DHCP server. THat part worked fantastically and I was able to within minutes make all my reservations. Problem I didn’t foresee is that instead of the CIMC using its MAC address as its unique identifier, it appears to be using some other really long string. I’m curious if this is something anyone else has ran into or has an explanation for this.

Hi

If the UUID version is not 1 or 2 it will not use its mac address as part of UUID as explained here:
