Has any other people experienced F0397 issue on FAN module of UCS C220M5? We upgraded all old C200 and C220M2 to M5 from 2019 for all global sites, but has been reported failure for 5 times after ~1y, some sites report more than one FAN module fail.

Hi Rockysang.
I have seen a lot of fan failures on a lot of servers over the years. Just need to replace them.

On new systems, disks, fans, or powersupplies often break if you hit a bad batch of hardware. it happen all the time with all suppliers of HW. Cisco has a superior support on servers, use it! I still have a M2 server running and see a lot of M3, M4 and M5 server running without failures. HPE, Dell/Emc, Lenovo and Cisco servers have all the same issues on hardware, but differ on support, I prefer Cisco all the time!
Good luck with your new servers! After replacing the fans they may run for a long long time without failure!
Regards
Ivar

thanks for the reply, agree with the good service from Cisco. It has been years for us to have Cisco products be installed in our DC and we have many different UCS models in different regions, we didn't have so many hw issues in other models including those B series and old C series until we installed new C220M5, that's why I'm trying to understand whether any design or quality issue on this model.
