Hello,

we have two 6296 that wont boot after power loss. We tried to connect to console but this also not work. So we dont get logs or a console access. I think we have maybe in this bug: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/640/fn64094.html

My Question is now. We dont have this 6296 under support. Is the 6296 also under lifetime warranty and can i open a TAC call without support for this Problem?

Thanks

From 6296 spec sheet: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computing/ucs-b-series-blade-servers/6200_SpecSheet.pdf

Unified Computing Warranty, No Contract
If you have noncritical implementations and choose to have no service contract, the following
coverage is supplied:
 Three-year parts coverage.
Next business day (NBD) onsite parts replacement eight hours a day, five days a week.
 90-day software warranty on media.
Ongoing downloads of BIOS, drivers, and firmware updates.
UCSM updates for systems with Unified Computing System Manager. These updates include
minor enhancements and bug fixes that are designed to maintain the compliance of UCSM
with published specifications, release notes, and industry standards.

Your situation would likely require an RMA, which means you would need to be within 3 years of having purchased the 6296 FIs, in order to get a service request entitled, or put your equipment back under contract.

Kirk...

okay thanks

it's been more than 3 years. Can i put it back under contract easily or its more expensive?
