Unable to configure RAID in CIMC or SCU on UCS C220 M5

First time working on a UCS server. I have a new C2205 M5 that I'm setting up. Two drives are installed, and are present under physical drive info in CIMC & SCU. But, neither drive is listed as an available physical drive to configure for RAID.

In CIMC under Storage > Cisco 12G... > Controller Info, the only menu option available is "Clear Boot Drive."

In SCU, no drives are listed under Server Configuration > Storage Configuration > LSI Embedded MegaRAID. On Board Drives shows both, but both Slot ID & State are NA.

Screenshots are attached for all the menu options listed, along with the system post screen, if that helps at all.

I used the Hardware Update Utility to update everything to the current recommended version. Here's some hardware & firmware info:

CIMC: 4.1(1f)

BIOS: C220M5.4.1.1c.0.0404202345

Cisco 12G Modular SAS HBA (max16 drives):11.00.03.01

SCU version used: 6.1.1b

Drives: 2x Seagate ~300GB w/ drive firmware CN02

Hello,

You have the SAS HBA, which is not capable of creating a RAID. This 12G SAS HBA is typically used for vSAN solutions where the OS controls the disks.

Similar Issue here:

You would need to get the 12G RAID Controller or install the OS to SD cards, M.2, or some other local or remote storage.

Womp womp, thanks for the reply.
