Upgraded ESXi 5.5 to 6.5 on Smartnet Covered BE6K - Get New Licensing

Hello All,

Even though this was for a voice install I figure it would best to ask in the Data Center section.  So I needed to upgrade VMware 5.5 on two UCS 220 M4 servers to 6.5 to accommodate the new 12.x versions of call manager and unity.  I was told my TAC it is covered.  So the next question is, how do I get the new permanent VMware licenses?  Thanks

Jason

Greetings.

Here is previous response I have seen sent for similar request:

Go to the Cisco Product Upgrade Tool (PUT) to upgrade to ESXi 6.0 license(s): http://upgrad.cloudapps.cisco.com/upgrad/order.do. Enter the service contract number which covers your VMware ESXi licenses and select the Advanced option, then go through the options and select the R-VS5-FND-K9-UPG= part ID (may be slightly different). If you cannot upgrade your licenses through PUT (you might receive a message stating that you do not have any upgradeable products), you will need to try to order/upgrade the ESXi 6.0 license(s) via the VMware site: https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=2006974 The link to register your VMware product is: https://www.vmware.com/vmwarestore/newstore/oem_login.jsp?Name=CISCO-AC
