Hi all,
I have a strange and worrying issue with some of the C220 M3S rack mount servers..
I am currently updating the firmware on a C220 M3S servers from C220M3.1.4.7b.0 (Build Date: 10/05/2012) using image ucs-c220-huu-2.0.13e.iso.
Under the Firmware Management tab we can see that the BIOS Firmware Install status is Uploading.. and has been for a number of hours. We are reluctant to physically power off the server incase the upgrade is taking place. We do not want to brick the BIOS and render the server useless.
Does anyone have any experience of this? Seem similar characteristics or have any suggestions of how to see what the upgrade is actually doing.
Regards,
Dan

Hey Dan,
I would attempt to complete the CIMC upgrade/activation before proceeding with the BIOS activation. It is possible that the CIMC is unable to read the BIOS image.
If this fails, you may try to stage the CIMC upgrade by going from 1.4 to 1.5 and then to 2.0.
HTH,
Wes

Hi Wes,
Thanks for your reply, sadly I can't do anything to the CIMC Firmware in it's current state.
When I open the link to update it has red text which states 'CIMC/BIOS firmware installation is currently in progress'

Dan

Hello ,
I have faced the same issue today. So I have logged case with CISCO and the technician said to reboot the host with HUU nothing will happen.
So I did and was able to update the firmware to latest version 4.0(2h)
