Hello, WE are looking to implement IDS in out network and I have some questions if I get 4250 can I span multiple network segments with the one interface it comes with? For instance say I have 10 subnets 10.0.1.0/24 10.0.10.0/24 would I be able to scan all those networks at once off of our 6509 core. Any recommendation on how to deploy would be appreciated. David

Hello All I am in the process of odering IDS units that we will need for work and was wondering if the 4235 IDs unit can support the Quad card. I ask this because I want to have a interface on every DMZ we have with our PIX. Any ideas or thoughts on this. WE will be terminating a VPN concentrator. Client and parterner VPNS web farm etc. Bandwidth could potentialy grow over 80 Mbs potentially with the termintation remote sites up to 50 -100 vpn connections. Thanks Has anyone used the Ciscoworks SIM yet. Is it exactly like the Netoforesnic unit. Has anyone used the all in one unit. Let me know the results. Thanks David

Hello all. We are looking to implement IDS in our network. Here is a run down of our network. Two external routers runnning bgp to two seperate ISP. Also we have a 7100 VPN router on the external net due to the fact that we are using NHRP for the VPN. Next is the redundant Pix firewalls. Two DMZ's and the internal newtork that has our Frame cloud attached to it. Now I am thinking of getting the 4215 put a interface on the external and the two DMZ. Then eventually getting another IDS for both the internal and Framecloud networks THoughts Ideas. Thanks Dave

You can have ACS work with CHAP we are using it right now. My boss has our AS5300 authenticating against ACS using chap. Don't ask me how because I am in the same process right now trying to get chap to work with proxy radius for the new VPDN we have. So I know there is someone out there that knows how to get CHAP running with ACS will that person please step forward and let us know. My boss is out for the week and I need to get this going by friday

CSPM usulaly when I am discovering devices will give me a databse error and crap out. If I try to log in again it says database not avalible I have to reboot the system but its only a matter of time before the same thing happens Help

thank you very much for clearing that up for me appreciate it. What would consititue a probe could I make a probe server or is it just traffic manager or a NAM modual. For instance is there like a probe client I could install on a server ?

hello, I am trying ot understand Ngenius now I have it running with a switch and i can not get it to do packet captures or moniotor and layer 3 activity its all greyed out. Do you need a probe to monitor a network on the layer 3 level. I'm lost I can only see the span port that I have enabled on the seitch please someone give me a clue because the doucmentation is awful. thanks

Its an evaluation version so I doubt TAC will suport it. WHen I check the process tab it diplays this for the ANI server. Running but busy flag set 2352 nothing anywhere about it.

thanks I have tried all those in listed still the same problem. I don't know what to do this is the fifth time I have built this machine. I had it working once but installed RME and it started this whole downard spiral. Its almost like this is garbage software. David

Yeah when I go to diagnosis ANI server it craps out also giving errors. I have also recevied apache errors when I go to toplogy section of campus manager. CiscoWorks is just not working out. I have have done multilpe installation and it still is not working properly. David

Hell all , This campus manger program reall is screwing things up. I have done multilpe reinstals of it and I continue to get the error listed below even if I apply all the patches and install it in the order recommended. Please if anyone has seen this error let me know what to do. I need to get this working. Hello everyone, I am new to Campus manager. I am trying to get it to discover our network topolgy which consist of various router, IP phones and various switches. I have added a seeding device and evetered teh snpm info into the server confi but it is only discovering the seed switch and the call manager server. which are on the same lan as the Campus Manger Box. There are routers on the smae lan that it is stating is unreachable. I have tested the conectivity of this device and the remote device from within the connectivity tools Mangment to device tool and had no problems.
