First, The FCoE system class (for Fibre Channel and FCoE traffic) has a default MTU of 2240 bytes. This value cannot be modified.
In your policy-map you configured mtu size as 2158.
And the document you shared it is asking to reapply default policy ...
As per my understanding, this doesnt seem to change anything because from the Nexus point of view, it is still 2 VPCs.
As explained in article, you can try to use static routing and peer-gw to workaround.
