Dear All,

I have a question which related with Cisco Rich Media License.

If I want to have a point to point video call from company A with domain Adomain.com make a call to company B with domain Bdomain.com.

Do I need any Rich Media license on it for the call?

My deployment:

expressway MRA enabled with version 8.7.1

Thank you all!!!

yes,you need RMS license to be loaded on expressway E and C applications.

Hi Aman

Can you tell me what is the RMA license?

I just added expressway series license to E and C as well as advanced network license on E

It is enough?

Thanks

Hi,

you can refer the link which says

Expressway call types and licensing

The Expressway distinguishes between the following 2 types of call:

Unified CM remote sessions: these are "mobile and remote access" calls i.e. video or audio calls from devices located outside the enterprise that are routed via the Expressway firewall traversal solution to endpoints registered to Unified CM. These calls do not require rich media session licenses, although they do contribute to overall load.

Rich media sessions: these calls consume rich media session licenses and consist of every other type of video or audio call that is routed through the Expressway. This includes business-to-business calls, B2BUA calls, and interworked or gatewayed calls to third-party solutions.

I am sharing the Part Codes of licenses which are required

On Expressway –E

LIC-EXP-RMS

   LIC-EXP-AN

   LIC-EXP-SERIES

   LIC-EXP-GW

 LIC-EXP-TURN

LIC-EXP-E

 On expressway –C

  LIC-EXP-RMS

  LIC-EXP-SERIES

   LIC-EXP-GW

regds,

Hi Aman,

Many thanks for your sharing.

On last questions, I saw there are few type of connection between expressway C & E.

I am currently using "Unified Communications traversal" between C & E.

If I want to have a business-to-business call such Company A calls Company B, does I need using another type of connection between expressway C & E? Such as "Traversal Server" in E and "Traversal Server" in C?

Thanks

Hi,

For MRA, u create traversal client on C and traversal server on E with Zone as Unified Communications.

For B2B,we need to create SIP profile on Call Manager for C, SIP route Pattern on Call manager for B2B, configure neighbor zone on C for Call manager and traversal client zone on C for E, search rules and transform on Expressway -C.

On Expressway-E, create traversal zone for C followed by search rules and transform.

regds,

Hi Aman,

Thank you so much.

Hi All,

I am trying to complete something similiar by connecting an MX300 registered to a CUCM 10.5.2 trunk to Expressway C traversing to Expressway E, but failing.

I am yet to purchase the LIC-EXP-RMS licenses, as we comparing costs for CMR Webex Vs Expressway\Bluejeans Video conference.

Without the licenses, how far will I see my call reach in the logs before it gives me an error.

I have setup a SIP trunk and a normal route pattern that will forward 4087407256 to expressway C server on port 5075 to avoid a conflict with the MRA\CUCM traverse zones.

I have created traversal zone from the expressway C to CUCM server, a traversal zone from Expressway C to E and

Expressway C - Traversal Zone to CUCM on port 5075

Expressway C - Traversal Zone to Expressway E

Expressway C - Transforms ^(4087407256).* replace with 4087407256.cts@bjn.vc

Expressway C - Search Rule 4087407256.cts@bjn.vc target Expressway E

Expressway E - Traversal Zone to Expressway C

Expressway E - DNS zone.

Expressway E - Search Rule (?!.*@%localdomains%.*$).* to DNSZone.

Currently I do not see a callid 4087407256 in the error or network logs. Any able to let know what I am missing? and at what stage not having the LIC-EXP-RMS licenses will prevent me

Thanks in Advance

Ed

Hi All,

I have one question regarding RMS license consumption.

I have cisco UC environment with below :

CUCM v11.5

CUP v11.5

Expressway Core v8.8.3

Expressway Edge v8.8.3

My CUCM configured using mixed mode,

all of our user devices (IP Phone, Jabber, and Endpoint) using secure encrypted profile,

and all calls both from local and internet are encrypted calls.

From that scenario, do I need to purchase a pair of RMS license for each call from client that located from internet?

If yes please provide me some cisco's document that explain that, because i've try to search that document but i cant find it.

Regards,

Ovindo
