Hi All,

Can someone explain how the PGW 2200 and MGW As5400 interact with each other in taking calls to the PSTN end and what are the components and ports involved for better understanding.

Thanks in advance

Sathya.

Hi Frends ...

Anybody thr to help me in understanding the concept .

Hi

Here is a document which gives you a complete end to end call flow between PSTN  - PGW - AS5400 MGW. Attached the document also.

Here is the callflow.

1.Call Signaling(IAM)comes from PSTN for PGW indicating PGW2200 for incoming call.

2.PGW translates IAM message which is Q.931+ over IP and sends to Originating NAS that a call is coming on of its CICs.

3.Then Originating NAS sends H.323 setup message to terminating NAS.

4.Terminating NAS sends this setup message on Q.931+ to PGW2200.

5.PGW2200 translates this setup message and sends IAM to terminating PSTN switch that a call is coming from terminating NAS CICs.

6.After this follows call proceeding, alert, ringing message and SS7 ACM message.

7.When called party picks up the phone we will see Connect, Connect ack and SS7 ANM message.

8.RTP stream is established between gateways and also voice channel is UP from end to end.

9.Any party can give disconnect message followed by Release Complete and SS7 (REL & RLC) messages.

Thanks.
