Hi team,
How can we access internal extensions from PSTN w/o purchasing DID from SP?
In CME I think we can do it by just issuing the "No direct-inward-dial" under the dial peer... So when the user dials a certain number from PSTN he gets a second dial tone where he enters the extension number...and the call is delivered to that number.
Does it work in UC540?
Thanks!
Pedro.

Have you calls ring to an Auto Attendant and turn on Dial By Extension. Then you can dial the extension number when you hear the greeting.

Pedro,
Yes, this will work on a UC540. For a digital port such as a PRI, "no direct-inward-dial". For an analog connection, leave off the PLAR configuration. Be aware that two-stage dialing is disabled by default starting with CME 8.1. You can reenable it by issuing the "secondary dialtone" command under the voice port. Also, be aware that this configuration leaves you open to toll fraud. A better solution might be to setup an auto attendant that allows callers to dial the extension they want to reach.

Hope this helps.
