Can't session into CUE although it's in Steady state

Hi,

A few days ago, I ran telephony wizard on a new UC560 for the first time. The wizard stopped with an error ("Exception: Null" ...) at 55%. Although, telephony worked as intended, so I proceeded configuring until I realised the wizard broke the CUE.

I could'nt access it in any way, resetting / restarting didn't work either and the VM LED on the device wasn't flashing.

To my surprise I got output that suggested the CUE was working again when I ran CUE diagnostics on CCA today. Nevertheless, I can't access the CUE via CLI.

I only get this:

UC560#service-module Integrated-Service-Engine 0/0 session

Trying 10.1.10.2, 2002 ...

% Connection refused by remote host

UC560#service-module Integrated-Service-Engine 0/0 status

Service Module is Cisco Integrated-Service-Engine0/0

Service Module supports session via TTY line 2

Service Module is in Steady state

Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled

Getting status from the Service Module, please wait..

Cisco Unity Express 8.6.3

CUE is on UC500UC500

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I need to access the CUE to reset it to factory default.

Kind Regards

Rainhard

Hi Rainhard,

Try closing CCA before accessing CUE via CLI.  Then you will need to clear the session to the CUE module.  To do this type:

UC560#service-module Integrated-Service-Engine 0/0 session clear

After the session is clear try logging in again.  This should get you access to the CUE module.

Thank you,

Hi Rainhard,

this sounds like the following problem:

The integrated service engine is admin down.

Try "sh ip int brief" and if it is really admin down then straight forward:

"conf t", "int in 0/0" and "no shut"

Kind regards, Detlef

Sometimes Cue gets hungup, and you have a short window to access it, keep trying your session and I bet you will get in. It will be unavailable, unavailable, then you are able to login.

Good Luck.
