We have a new voip phone system that is using new cisco phones 7941G on a signaling protocol configured for sccp.  we have a bunch of cisco spa504g phones that where configured for signaling protocol for sip.  can the spa504g phone work on sccp?

if so, can I take the settings from one of our 7941g phones and use them in the older phones?

thanks

Hi Rodney,

The spa504 does not support SCCP and there is no SCCP firmware

available for this series of Phone

Q. What voice protocols are supported?

A. The Cisco SPA 504G supports both Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) version 2 with the Cisco SPA 9000 and third-party call controllers and the Smart Phone Control Protocol (SPCP) with the Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series.

Hi rob,  Thanks for the reply.

to bad, we have al lot of these phones that it would be nice to re-use.

have a good one.

If the phome system running SCCP is Cisco CUCM 5.0 or later then you should be able to configure your SPA 504G phones as third party SIP phones but you will not get access to full features.

The document at the link below should get you started:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_5_1/ccmcfg/b09sip3p.html

sooo, who is correct here Rob or James?

James, the link you supplied goes to a forbidden page and I cannot access the document.

thanks

Both answers were correct.

Rob stated that the SPA504G cannot support SCCP which is true.

I suggested that you could try adding them as third party SIP phones if you are using CUCM5 or later.

The url I posted was a partner only one - try the one below.
