Hi,
we are currently in the process to get our UC540 certified by a swiss cable SIP provider, the final test we need to pass is the anonymous outgoing call (hiding caller id) which is initiated by sending anonymous@anonymous.invalid in the SIP Invite-URI (see http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3323.html)
From: "Anonymous" <sip:anonymous@anonymous.invalid>;tag=1928301774
Now our questions:
- How can we set this (CLI preferred) permanently for a single extension
- Is it possible to do this case-by-case using a SPA525G phone?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi Anthony,
thanks a lot, this works as global setting.
Final question regarding this: Is it possible to configure this
- for single extentsions only
- case-by-case (e.g. by dialing some code before the number like *31# for example on european ISDN)
Best regards

You can try using sip profiles at the dial peer level-
voice class sip-profiles 1
request ANY sip-header From modify "From: .*>" "From: \"Anonymous\"
dial-peer voice 1 voip
voice-class sip profiles 1
And then create a destination pattern to match your specific star code or use cor-lists to restrict who can use that dial peer.
I didn't test this in the lab so you may need to tweak this to suit your needs. But hopefully this should give you some ideas.
Thanks,
Anthony
