Jon,

Please look at the phone display:

Setup -> Option 22 -> Reboot History and reply with the reboot reason.

This will provide information from the phone on why it rebooted.

Thanks

Randy

Just says that VLAN changed, but nothing has changed and it is random phones, not like all of them are doing it at one time.  Also never happened until this update.

Jon,

What type of switch is the SPA phones connected to?  Can you confirm the model & firmware version and if possible the switch config.  Thanks I will reach out to the test teams to duplicate the issue.

Thanks,

Randy

ProCurve Switch 2610-24/12PWR (J9086A)

R.11.72, ROM R.10.06

has a Data VLAN ( 1 ) and Voice VLAN ( 100 )  the voice vlan is on ports 1-12

Sounds like a switch issue to me.

Hi,

The SPA phones need CDP to learn about the voice VLAN.  From Wikipedia, HP ProCurve switches may block/not send out CDP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisco_Discovery_Protocol

Chris

The switch has CDP enabled so it can read and store information, which it is doing.  So it has to be able to forward CDP packets for this to stop?  Why did it work fine before this latest update? So basically if someone who has invested heavily in some other brand of switch will not be able to use this phone?  Just trying to figure this out before we recommend more of this systems.

Jon,

We are trying to duplicate the issue in our labs.  Can I work directly with you to obtain the a wireshark trace of the CDP packets to and from the UC320W?   This will help isolate what device is requesting a VLAN change causing the phones to restart.

Thanks,

Yes, I will do that but won't be until Tuesday, on a trip for the long weekend.
