Passive PoE for SPA922

Hello,

I wanted to make simple PoE installation for SPA922 phone. I bought 48V adapter and connected negative

to pair 7 and 8 and positive to pair 4 and 5. But no luck, phone doesn't work, but blinks it screen when

disconnecting.

I was wondering if SPA922 supports passive PoE at all? I do not want to install PoE switch because

it is unnecessary in that location, PoE would be used only to allow wall mount of that phone.

Phone supports 802.3af standard Poe only.

Otherwise, you can use a 5V power supply, with passive PoE splitter if you want,

Unfortunately you are not right . I used 48V power adapter and coneccted it to pairs 4,5 and 7,8 and it works. Also polarity doesn't matter. Works both ways. I just had to modify my passive PoE injector and it works just fine.

So yes - SPA 922 does support passive PoE.
