Problems getting the 500S sidecar to register

CCA: 3.2

IOS:  uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.SB

Hardware: UC 540

I've plugged the sidecar into the a 508G phone (which works and is registered). The system appears to not recognize the 500S. When I go into the cli to look at the type there is no option to add the any sidecar to the type:

UTS_UC540(config-ephone)#type 508G ?

  <cr>

That's all I get. There appears to be no option to add the sidecar in the CCA. I'm new to the CCA so maybe I'm missing something.

Any thoughts on how to get the sidecar working?

Hi,

You can add expansion module using CCA. Go to Configure>Telephony>User and phones the select the phone and edit it in the upper part of the window there is phone type and also "Expansion module" you can select it there and you will get the buttons added to the the phone.

I'm thinkin' your IOS level, 12.4, (about 3 years old now) does not support the 500s sidecar.    Upgrade to the latest software pak 8.2  (IOS 15.1-T4)  and you should be good to go.
