I've been using Cisco spa508g's for a while on my FreePBX installs. Very nice phones and easy to configure. Using DHCP-option 66 I am currently doing the tftp auto provisioning and its working great, but from what i read to be more secure i should be using http(s).
I've tried to disable TFTP in FreePBX and configure http but I cant seem to get the phones to provision. I also tried to use the resync command without success. I must be missing some configuration somewhere. Has anyone got this configured or have any tips?

Cisco phones use TFTP to retrieve configuration and firmware files. There is no option to use HTTP or HTTPS. Not sure what information would be at risk from a security standpoint?

You missed badly ...
SPA50x uses either TFTP, FTP, HTTP or HTTPS to fetch provisioning file.
