Turn Off Night Bell

Is it possible to have an extension be able to see night service status, and be able to use the night service code, but NOT receive the bell notifications for incoming calls?

Thanks.

Hello Daniel,

You can setup a night service bell on a extension (phone-dn) and it will not receive the bell notification as only the phones (ephones) which are set to receive the bell will do so.

Basically the ephone-dn are the ones for which the night service bell ephones(usually with different ephone-dn configured) will receive notifications.

The ephone-dn are not receiving notifications but they can see and change the night service status.

HTH,

Alex

Just to clarify:

So if night-service bell is enabled on the primary ephone-dn for a user, they will be able to:

a. See night-service status

b. Use the night-service code

However, they will NOT receive the bell notifications?

Thanks.

Hello Daniel,

Yes, they will not receive bell notifications, but the extensions for which the call is targeted will ring just will add the notification to the phones set for night service.

Example:

extension(ephone-dn) 105 set with night-service bell (on ephone 1) is ringing(it will ring even with night-service because it is its own number), phones (ephone 4 and 5) set for night service bell will have receive the night service bell.

Then extension(ephone-dn) 106 set with night-service bell (on ephone 1) is ringing(it will ring even with night-service because it is its own number), phones (ephone 4 and 5) set for night service bell will have receive the night service bell, but not ephone 1 because it is not set for night service.

The idea is that you setup some lines which are important to be answered during the night hours by the people which will be available then on these ephones.

HTH,

Alex
