UC behind a cisco router

Hi,

We have the following scenario. We have a Cisco router 2811 with a HWIC ADSL card and an Ethernet interface G0/0. This router is connected to the internet using the HWIC interface which has a static public IP address. Behind the 2811 we have a Cisco UC 540. We have configured UC for voice using H323 protocol for outgoing and incoming calls. When we configure the WAN interface of UC and the G0/0 of the router with public IP addresses and configure the remote site (another Cisco router) to use the UC’s public IP address as the H323 session target, we have managed to make and accept calls. The problem is that we cannot receive calls when we configure the UC’s WAN interface and inside router’s interface with private IP addresses (same subnet). What must be the H323 gateway that has to be configured on the remote site? The Public IP address of the 2811 router or the private ip address of UC’s wan interface? What configuration do we have to do on Cisco Router?

Thanks in advanced

Hi,

We run a very similar configuration, behind two routers and two firewalls, but do you need to use the WAN interface? We just run the UC5x0 without using the WAN port as anything that needs to communicate with the network is terminated on the firewalls.

Just use the internal LAN segment of the UC and skip the WAN interface.

We have several remote VPN sites and teleworkers and this configuration works for all of them,

Good luck

Bob
