UC520# squeeze flash: command does not exist - need help

Hi all,
I'm having some trouble with a UC520. After updating, deleting and  uploading phoneloads to the flash: memory it is almost full. (But there  should be more space available.)
When I use the command show flash: or dir /all /recursive flash: the  UC500 tells me there is 4.505.600 bytes available (123.678.720 bytes  used) of my 128M flash-card. But when I sum the filesizes of the single  files this is only 64.543.836 bytes so there should be at least 60Mbytes  free.
After some research I think the problem is, that the flash is fragmented or the files where not propperly / fully deleted.
To solve this problem Cisco offers the squeeze command. But this command doesn't exist on the UC. Do you have any suggestions how to solve this problem?

The command doesn't exist on current products because is used only on older non-FAT filesystems.

Try fsck .

I tried fsck flash:

command works but there is not more free space ... also reloaded the UC.

Have you/your users a lot of greetings/messages. You can check in CCA how many minutes each mailbox has.

As far as I know the greetings and messages are stored on the flash but you wont see them as WAV files.

UC520 IOS Flash is 128M externally mounted and the biggest user of space on it is phone loads. You do not need all the phone loads if you don't have then plugged in. Some oh them are 7M themselves (just one) for example.

CUE flash is internal and separate from IOS flash, so voice mail storage doesn't exist on IOS flash.

The UC540 has 256M IOS flash as does the UC560.

i thought the CUE of the UC520 (Not 540/560) uses the same flash as the CME part of the UC.

I know i don't need all the phoneloads - but I have connected a 7942, 7962, 7965, 7916(exp), 7911, SPA504, SPA525 and SPA303

so I need the phoneloads: 7942_7962, 7945_7965, SPA30X_SPA50X, SPA525, 7916 and I dont have enough space for all of them.

Nope. Separate flash.

Are you using CCA 3.0?

There is the file upload / Download from UC 500 iOS flash to your PC option.

There is also a Phone Load Manager utility to confirm what you have and can remove or add phone loads.

There must be something else there. While ALL the phone loads won't fit on a UC520 (this is clear), a few of them should. Are you using flash for CDRs or Reports? Do you have old IOS images you don't need?

Yes, using CCA3.0.

shure i have checked with the filemanager and I uploaded and deleted the phoneloads via PhoneLoad management in CCA.

But I think I found the problem. I just used "show flash:" command again and now there are some more entries. the ORPHAN1/* files where not there before. Can i just delete them? (See output below) Maybe these files where not visible before issuing the "fsck flash:" command

I suppose you could back them up and get them off. Perhaps after a few searches on ' orphans on iOS flash'

ok - we have a solution

this works:

fsck flash:
show flash: (identify the ORPHAN directory)
delete /recursive /force flash:/ORPHAN1
reload

have 63Mbyte free flash now.

This UC520 is used in an testing environment so the mailboxes are all empty.
