We've implemented a new UC560 for a customer. One thing thing they had in their old system was the "hands free speaker function". Basically they would page someone's extension and ask them if they were there / could talk to someone. Without the user doing anything, they could respond.
The only solution I can thing of is configuring the phones to auto answer, but this would happen EVER time. Does anyone else have any other ideas? Or have ran into this before?
*EDIT: The phones are IP PHONE 7931G and SPA501G.Cisco Unified IP Phone 7931G

That is a intercom DN with auto-answer. You can configure it as overlay DN and it will have a separate number from main extension.

Hello Travis,
There is a feature called Dialable Intercom. The feature is an intercom button that allows a phone user to intercom any other phone on the system that also has a dialable intercom button. This is done by pressing the intercom button and dialing the extension they want to intercom.
The confiugration steps are outlined in the CCA Admin Guide 3.2, Chapter 11, Users and Extensions, Configuring Phone Button Assignments.
Here is the link:
Check it out and this should work for your customer.
Hope this helps,
Bert Wilhelm

Thanks for the reply Paolo and Albert! I read the documentation and will test tomorrow.
Is it possible to do these steps, but globally to all phones. Instead of individually?
STEP 1 select the User Extensions tab.
STEP 2 Click on a phone in the list to select it, then click the Edit button to displays its
configuration details.
STEP 3 Select the Button Assignments tab.
STEP 4 In the button list, click on the number of the button you want to use for the Dialable
Intercom.
Only one dialable intercom button can be configured per phone.
STEP 5 In the Type drop-down menu, choose Dialable Intercom.
STEP 6 In the Dialable Intercom options area to the right, configure these settings.
