If your aren't logged in to your softphone, SnR calls go right to the voicemail box on your UC500....
Is there any way to make SNR work when the softphone is not on/registered? Obviously it's a non issue for hard handset users, but for CIPC users- leaving the softphone up and running on your desktop doens't make much sense.
I'm looking for a way around that... please advise.
Thx,
Stacy

I don't think we have around this.....one option, setup an IP phone for this CIPC user and add a shared line.....so a phone is always registered....
If you have any sidecars, you can add as a silent ring shared dn on a spare button....

UGH. Nope- they have all softphone users and wouldnt' want their lobby phone ringing or even showing inbound calls to the executives.
It feels like the SnR hasn't been fully developed for all phone types. WIll it ever work on a CIPC that isn't registered/logged in?

This is considered a feature enhacement. Similar challenges were found for call forward settings of unregistered phones, and that Defect has been in unresolved state for a few years now (high risk item):
CSCee43538 CCME returns user busy when calling an unregistered IP phone
You could do a shared line like Ron mentions, but instead of using another IP phone, share it with an FXS port doing SCCP that has nothing connected to it, and instead of SNR, configure CFNA. Often times, you will have one FXS port to spare (as well as one license). If this is for everybody in the office using CIPC, then we are back to square one.

We're just making sure we explain the feature and it's limitations on CIPC in the sales process.
Thanks,
