I just recieved four 2950 cat switches with IOS 12.1(20)EA1a loaded on it. I was trying to configure SSH using for vty. But it was not there. Will I have to upgrade to be able to do this? If so what version of IOS do I need to be at? I looked at 12.3t but the documentation did not mention the 2950 switch. Did I over look it?

SSH support added in cat 2950 from 12.1(12c)EA1 and higher images. So you should have ssh support for the image that you have on cat. You can visit following link on how to configure ssh support on CAT switches running cat os and ios.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk583/tk617/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094314.shtml
and
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk583/tk617/technologies_tech_note09186a00800949e2.shtml
Now you can find OS required based on features by using Feature Nevigator on cco located at
http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp
You can use it by fature or by platform basis.

Hello,
Make sure you are using an IOS with encryption. You should get it from the encryption or 3DES link at cisco.com.
