Automatically pick Call Park extension and unparking call

HI everyone,

We're just testing Webex Calling, currently using CUCM 12.5, everything is going great apart from the Call Park facility.

How it currently works with our CUCM system is a user would press to park a call, the handset would then let the user know the extension of the parked call e.g. 7180, and then they'd shout over to whomever the extension of the parked call and they'd dial 7180 and they'd pickup the parked call.

Looking at Webex Calling instructions, you setup the Call Park Extensions, which we've done, you setup the Call Park Groups and then when you go to park a call, you've got to manually type in the call park extensions and hope the one you pick isn't being used, if it is, you type in the next extension, then the next extension until you get a call park extension that's not in use, you then shout over to the person who needs the call the call park extension, they then dial *88 and then the call park extension to pick the call up.

Is there a way for the call park feature on the handset to automatically pick the first call park extension and then for the person that wants to unpark the call just to dial the call park extension without dialling *88?

1 Accepted Solution

Had a play through doing it using Call Park Group, where you put the call on hold and then dial #58, this will then automatically go to the first available call park extension.  To pick up the call, you've got to dial *88 and then the call extension or use the Unpark softkey.

Neither of the above is as nice to use as the Call Park feature in CUCM which is disappointing.

Thank you for your reply.

If you are using the Webex App, You can just click the "Call retrieve" button at the bottom and type in the extension.  If you want to do this directly from the phone you can also use the buttons on the phone to access call park: https://youtu.be/Fxu5mmQ8kWk
As far as auto picking the first call park extension available, I do not believe this is an option at this time.  You can always post it as a AHA feature request. https://ciscocollaboration.ideas.aha.io/portal_session/new
