Extended away greeting allowing voicemails

Is there a way to allow voicemails to be left for our end users who setup extended away greetings?

Currently it just disconnects the caller after it's done playing the message.

Also could we setup a time frame of when the message would end? This was an option before in Unity before we migrated to the cloud.

If we can't for either of these questions is there any ETA as to when the feature will be added back in?

That would cause issues for us as several of our alternate greetings are set up to intentionally prevent callers from leaving voice mail messages.  We're at least 1 year away from moving to Webex Calling so I hope they add this before we transition.

You may want to add this as a feature request in the Collaboration Track at this link so other users, including me, can show their support for it.  Here's a link to the Product Enhancement Site:

If you're using Cisco Unity on-prem, you should have the option to leave a message.  In the voice mail box set up, select Edit>Greetings then select alternate greeting and go to the section "After Greeting."  There is a drop down that gives you the following optins.

Hi Kathy, we moved to Webex calling. BEFORE in unity we were able to do this. This does not seem to be an available option now with Webex calling, hence my original questions

Here is the URL for the feature request. Looks like someone suggested this back in Feb of this year.

Thank you for the link for the Product Enhancement site

Our work around for now is not to use the extended away feature at all, just have people re-record their general "no Answer" greeting and when they come back on vacation record it again.

It's not great but it's better then not getting any messages at all and upsetting our client base.
