How to Start a Meeting in my Desktop App

I have the webex meeting invite containing the join link and the following details

Host: ***********
Event number (access code): *************
Registration ID: This event does not require a registration ID
Event password: **********

and also have the webex desktop app (version 41.5.0.18911 on Ubuntu 20.04) installed where I signed in using my organisation credentials.

So how do I join the meeting from the app? When I click on the meeting under the Direct tab (see pic)

I am redirected to a webpage that asks me for the credentials again (see pic below).

Screenshot from 2021-05-31 10-28-18.pngWhen I give all the details, the meeting opens in my google chrome browser tab. How to make the app work? Also, is there any way to enter into the meeting without repeatedly giving my credential when I have already signed in to the app?

The website should redirect you to the webex meeting app (if its installed and running)

Hi.  You're attempting to join an Event, which is different from a standard Webex Meeting.  Events usually require their own password (not your credentials) so it would be normal for you to hit this web verification before being admitted to the meeting.  I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for getting back @Stephanie Knoop

So is there any way to open an event in the desktop application (or android app) itself rather than running on chrome?

Hi, @SpiderMan

Yes, you can still join in the desktop app.  The attendees would enter the meeting ID in the app and then the meeting password.  I've attached an image to illustrate.

Hope this helps!
