Webex Calling (CUCM) Contact Resolution

Hello,

Trying to find the best way to do a directory lookup using Softphone connected to on-prem CUCM, to lookup non-WebEx users that have cisco handsets or PBX devices that are setup in AD and populated in the CUCM corporate directory with ipPhone field populated. I might be missing something obvious but it seems to be the following options:

 

  • Populate local outlook contacts - not great as manual task for user?
  • Import all users into Webex Control Hub, using directory connector but don't license the one's that don't require Webex - not ideal
  • Use Imagicle contact management embedded into Webex Teams - bit clunky as the gadget is just a URL pointing to the web browser.

Ideally would like a way to lookup contacts from AD directly like you could with Jabber, webex softphone seems to ignore the xml for this.

 

Any suggestions welcome

Hi @Lee Marson ,

You can not directly lookup CUCM directory from Webex App. The best approach would be to sync active directory users using Cisco Directory Connector. With Cisco Directory Connector, you can maintain your user accounts and data in the Active Directory, so Active Directory becomes the single source of truth. When you make a change on-premises, it is replicated to the cloud.
