Hello Community,
first post here, please apologize for any wrongdoing.
System setup:
Webex Room Kit EQ with Room OS 11.11.1.9
Sony camera SRG-X 400, connected via HDMI and Ethernet
Extron touch panel and IPCP PRO controller
Task:
The customer configured the camera for Cisco control, camera can be controlled from theCisco Room Navigator.
We were informed that the Sony camera gets an IP address from the Cisco Codec, we assume that the Cisco controls the Sony camera via Ethernet.
In addition, the camera shall be controlled from the Extron touch panel. However, the Extron controller cannot control the camera via Ehernet directly.
A Extron driver to control the Cisco Codec via USB-RS232 adapter is available, this driver includes camera control.
Question: will the Cisco Codec take the commands from the RS232 port and send it to the camera via IP?
Thanks in advance

Yes - that should definitely work if configured correctly. I have a number of rooms where the cameras are physically connected to the codec but a Crestron panel can control them. Shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, this is possible - the Extron device needs to ask the Cisco Codec to move the camera. It can either do this via a Serial Connection, or it can do it over the IP network to save having to add extra serial components.
